The Social Work Engagement & Outreach Committee works to build meaningful connections between NASW-Utah and the broader social work community. This committee collaborates with social work education programs, behavioral health providers, and community organizations to support the professional growth, well-being, and visibility of social workers across Utah. The committee leads efforts to host networking and educational events that foster community, strengthen professional connections, and elevate the practice of social work.

In addition, the committee plays a vital role in amplifying diverse voices within NASW-Utah by advocating for inclusive representation across the board and committees. Through outreach and ongoing communication, the committee connects directly with Utah social workers to listen, support, and respond to the challenges they are facing in the field—ensuring NASW-Utah remains responsive, representative, and rooted in the lived experiences of its members.

Through open and respectful dialogue, we foster a welcoming environment where diverse perspectives are valued, and professionals are empowered to grow and lead.

The committee works to promote inclusive practices across social work programs, agencies, and communities while advocating for policy changes that advance racial, social, and economic justice.
