This Symposium is a unique partnership sponsored by the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office, the Utah Shattering Silence Coalition, and the Coalition for Severe Mental Illness. The objective is to discuss the issue of the criminalization of people with severe mental illness, and how alternatives to incarceration can be created. Family members who have loved ones with severe mental illness, have driven the agenda and will be presenting in various capacities with other professionals throughout the day. There will be short videos highlighting other family members and people with lived experience with severe mental illness.
