What to expect:
Dynamic speakers from the field — thought leaders, legislators, and experienced social workers will share insights on current challenges and opportunities in social services.
Advocacy training & Legislative engagement — learn how to communicate effectively with legislators, present data-driven arguments, and participate in meetings that influence policy. This is an ideal way for both seasoned professionals and newer social workers to get involved.
Networking with peers and students — connect with fellow social workers, social work students, educators and community advocates dedicated to social change.
Continuing Education (CEU) opportunity — The event is listed among offerings with Approved CEUs on the schedule from NASW‑Utah (registration is REQUIRED in order to be eligible to receive free CEUs for attendance).
Advocacy 101 — If you’re new to legislative advocacy, this is an excellent “101” introduction: you’ll receive guidance on how laws are made in Utah, what social workers can do to influence policy, and practical tools to prepare for meaningful conversations with legislators.
Whether you’re an experienced clinician or a social work student just starting out - Social Work Day on the Hill is a chance to learn, connect, and advocate for the communities you serve.
