Risk Factors for Suicidal Ideation in Children & Adolescents

The presentation has a mix of local and national statistics about reported risk factors for children and youth aged 6-18 as well as suicide rates. I will also share common self/parent reported risk factors that have been in safety plans with the children and youth I have worked with throughout Salt Lake County. The end of the presentation goes over interventions and ways professionals and families can help implement more protective factors while being aware of and eliminating possible risk factors for suicide.

He is intesively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and provides trainings for mental health professional across the United States. he is currently the drector of the Bachelors of Social Work program at South Utah University.

Introduction: Kristin K. Woods, or "Katie", is a native of St. George. Katie is a lawyer specializing in end-of-life planning and care, and is the Immediate Past President of the Utah State Bar Association.

 

Katie provides legal services such as Estate Planning, Probate, and Guardianship expertise to clients through her law office, and is also the founder and manager of Owl Guardianship & Elder Care Services, LLC, which provides care management and fiduciary services to over 150 disabled adults across the State of Utah.
