Ethical Consultations for a Sound Social Work Practice

Objectives:

•To outline the ethical mandate for social workers to engage in meaningful consultative practices as outline in the NASW Code of Ethics.  

•To understand the differences between consultation and supervision, and the mandates for both.

•Strategies to conduct strong interdisciplinary consultations.

•To develop technical and clinical skills in creating excellent consultative practices.

•Strategies to build strong social work consultation for all types of practices.


Annika K. Hunt, LCSW.  NASW-UT Board Vice President.  20+ years of clinical experience working in administration, healthcare and military settings. She has operated as a sole social worker in multiple agencies and has learned firsthand the critical importance of good social work consultation to managing safe, professional and ethical care of clients.

These credits qualify as ethics/law credits.

R156-60-105(6): 

for each hour of volunteer service on boards, committees, or in leadership roles in any state, national, or international organization for the development and improvement of the licensee's profession, one CE hour, in whole or part of which may be counted as regular credit or ethics, law, or technology credit, up to a maximum of six CE hours during each two-year period.
